Classes

If you are 4 years and above, have a love for music, dance and gymnastics, we invite you to join us. We have a small class size of no more than 15 students per class to ensure the effectiveness and quality of training.

We'd enrol you in the most suitable class based on ability and age group. We currently offer the following classes for recreational and competitive training.

 
 

What will the kids learn?

Lessons

Freehand

With no use of apparatus, freehand contain a balance of jumps, leaps, pivots, balances and flexibility movements.

Rope

Rope routine include leaps and skipping. Other elements include swings, throws, circles, rotations and figures of eight.

Hoop

Hoop routine include rotation around the hand or body and rolling, as well as swings, circles, throws, and passes through and over the hoop. Mastering both apparatus handling and body difficulty like leaps, jumps and pivots.

Ball

Ball routine include throwing, bouncing or rolling. The gymnast must use both hands and work on the whole floor area whilst showing continuous flowing movement. The ball is to emphasize the gymnasts flowing lines and body difficulty.

CLub

Clubs are thrown from alternate hands; each passes underneath the other clubs and is caught in the opposite hand to the one from which it was thrown. At its simplest, each club rotates once per throw however, double and triple spins are frequently performed, allowing the club to be thrown higher for more advanced patterns and to allow tricks such as 360s to be performed underneath.

Ribbon

Ribbon routine include flicks, circles, snakes and spirals, and throws. It requires a high degree of co-ordination to form spirals and circles as knots may accidentally be created during performance. During a ribbon routine, large, smooth and flowing movements are looked for.

Is your child interested in Rhythmic Gymnastics but unsure where to start? We have a class specially for her! Join us for our KinderTots class, where we welcome children aged 4-6 years old to begin on their RG journey. No prior experience required.

DESCRIPTION

Foundation class to introduce your child to rhythmic gymnastics. Through our programme, your child will benefit in these areas:

  1. Interest in a Sport : Nurture your child’s interest in rhythmic gymnastics with a desire to make this sport a part of her exercise routine. She’d develop an appreciation for the training programme and the competitions.

  2. Strong foundation in Rhythmic Gymnastics : An insight into the skills and techniques of various rhythmic gymnastics body difficulties. She’d gain a thorough understanding of how to train and execute the different exercises.

  3. Health and Fitness : A greater understanding of the importance of health and fitness to the overall well-being of the athlete. She’d learn to effectively manage her physical fitness with her knowledge of sports and exercise, developing a healthy lifestyle that will stand her in good stead for life.

  4. Character Building : Rhythmic Gymnastics offers a unique environment to build self-confidence, resilience and develop a positive attitude to life’s challenges. As your daughter trains for the different movements, she further gains an appreciation for the sport, and for doing it well.

  5. Social Interaction : Through our emphasis on teamwork and excellence in sportsmanship, we cultivate in every student the ability to handle competition and cooperation with grace.

Advanced class

DESCRIPTION

Advanced class for those with a mastery for the sport, interested in progressing to a competitive arena. AGAPE aims to help students:

  1. Interest in a Sport : Train primarily in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Students will be able to independently design their own exercise routines and have a deep appreciation for the technical complexities of the sport.

  2. Strong foundation in Rhythmic Gymnastics : Actively train to develop their skills and abilities, such that they may qualify for the national team and represent the school at competitions.

  3. Health and Fitness : Gain advanced insight into the study of sports and exercise in order to construct a good environment and plan for themselves. Students will cultivate a well-rounded discipline in physical fitness and be self-driven to develop her own physique.

  4. Character Building : Instill and exhibit self confidence, resilience through training and exposure to competitions.

  5. Social Interaction : To develop good character traits as they engage themselves with society by becoming an active member and participant of the school and national sporting community.
